About JCCGCI
Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) is a community-based organization with a citywide scope, providing a wide-spectrum of older adult, vocational, educational, crime-reduction, community revitalization, and related services benefiting all segments of the population. JCCGCI is also a technical assistance provider, offering capacity building services to nonprofits in all five boroughs through its NonProfit HelpDesk division. With 40 program sites throughout New York City staffed by almost 350 social service professionals, JCCGCI assists an average of 2,500+ needy individuals and families each day.
About The Event:
JCCGCI will be giving out Passover food packages to older adults in Coney Island. This event will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately.
Volunteers should:
Be comfortable standing for the majority of their shift
Be comfortable lifting and carrying 10+ pounds
Dress appropriately for the weather and for physical activity (including closed toe shoes, comfortable clothing, etc.
Tasks:
Volunteers will help pack and distribute grocery food items. Additional tasks may involve breaking down boxes and other setup/breakdown related work and crowd control.
Training:
A brief 15 minute orientation and task overview will be provided upon arrival
Time Commitment:
Volunteers may sign up for a single volunteer shift or volunteer all day.
