The Department for the Aging’s (NYC Aging) Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)  is designed to provide income eligible older adults, aged 60 and above, with access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs, by distributing 70k coupon booklets to Citywide NYC Aging Partners. Volunteers will assist in packing bundles for pick up for Citywide FMNP Partners (300+).

Skills Required.

  • Follow all agency procedures regarding the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.

• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Detail oriented and organized, especially when dealing with numbers.

• Knowledge of Excel is a plus but not required.

• Phone work may be required. Ability to communicate clearly is a plus.

• Be a team player.

• Pack requests efficiently and accurately.

• Manage, organize, store, and retrieve packages from the stock room.

• Be able to lift packages up to 25 pounds.

• Attend events with FMNP and/or PE staff to assist in distribution of coupon booklets or in Outreach during tabling events (events can also take place on the weekend).
