Mission Statement
To provide an engaging volunteer opportunity to low-income older New Yorkers to share their love and attention for children with special and exceptional needs resulting in increased wellbeing, dispelling ageism, and strengthening communities
Many children in New York City could benefit from the love and guidance of an older adult. This is an opportunity to teach, mentor and/or support children with special and exceptional needs. The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) harnesses the skills and experiences of older adults to positively impact the lives of these children and youth.
