Volunteer: Volunteer Exercise Instructors Needed

*Please Note: Stay Well exercise classes take place on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Volunteers will need availability during those days/times*

Help make a difference in the health of New York City’s older adult population by becoming a volunteer in the STAY WELL exercise program. As a volunteer, you will lead exercise classes at a local older adult center using STAY WELL’s comprehensive curriculum. Classes enhance balance, cardiovascular health and build muscle strength.

The STAY WELL exercise program encourages older adults/participants to become more active and live a healthier lifestyle by incorporating exercises into their daily routine. STAY WELL helps participants:

Feel Stronger

Have more Flexibility

Have more energy

More Balance

Better Stamina

Prevention of falls

STAY WELL breathing exercises help participants focus the mind and increase their breathing capacity. SW exercises align the body parts with proper posture. SW volunteers demonstrate the correct way to do the exercises and explain the benefits of doing them on a regular basis. SW promotes socialization and relaxation. SW is a fun way to exercise. Stay Well helps participants:

Improve strength
